On the heels of a major promotional tour in support of their sixth recording ALL THAT IS WITHIN ME, multi-platinum and award-winning band MercyMe has once again hit the Billboard Top 200 SoundScan charts in a big way landing at No. 15, just below Jay-Z and above Beyonce and Rascal Flatts latest, selling 83,626 units in its first week of release, 30% ahead of it’s previous recording, 2006’s COMING UP TO BREATHE. The album entered at No. 1 on Billboard’s Contemporary Christian SoundScan chart. The album reached as high as #16 on iTune’s Top 100 Albums list, and has been No. 1 on iTunes Top Christian Albums list since its release on November 20th.

Live from New York City last week, MercyMe launched the new project with a Real Rhapsody session, SIRIUS radio interview, a performance at BB Kings and a live Satellite Media Tour (SMT) in the Reuters studio overlooking Times Square. The SMT hit markets including Chicago, San Francisco, Tampa, Denver, Minneapolis, Boston, Philadelphia and Atlanta, and was picked up by several feeds, including the Associated Press, Reuters, ABC NewsOne, and CNN Pop Life.

Along with sales and some of the best reviews of their career (USA Today, Beliefnet.com, CCM, AllMusic and more), MercyMe’s first single for the project, ‘God With Us,’ set the record for most AC adds (57) in a week, with almost 80 adds from reporting stations in the AC, CHR and Inspo formats. Currently the single is already Top 5 at Christian AC, Top 10 Inpso, New and Active CHR and moving up.

“We have felt quite a ground swell of support for MercyMe and their new project on every level,” remarked INO president Jeff Moseley. “Radio, media and retail have really come to the table to show their commitment to this band, and for that we are truly grateful.”

Leading up to and after their NYC stop the band made live in-store appearances and performances and visited radio and retail in Dallas, Minneapolis and Washington DC, while headlining the Friday evening event at the R&R Christian Radio Summit in Nashville.

In addition, the band stopped-by Christian AC radio stations nationwide with on-air time and promotions with stations such as KTIS Minneapolis, KLOVE morning show with Jon and Sherry Rivers, Total Axxess/WAYfm in Nashville, KLTY in Dallas, an Associated Press Radio interview in D.C. and many others.

Retail highlights from the promo tour include live performances at Northwestern in Minneapolis, John’s Christian Store in Chicago (followed by an additional sold out cd release concert that evening), and Potomac Adventist Store in Washington D.C. In addition, the band had hundreds of fans show up at their hometown in-store at a Wal-Mart in Dallas.

MercyMe will hit the road once again in support of “All That Is Within Me” when they headline the Winter Jam tour starting January 10th (all dates below).
