The 30-city music class was in session as of Wednesday as Matthew West took the stage with special guests Shawn McDonald and Paul Wright in Kelispell, Montana. West, a Universal South recording artist just dropped
History, a follow up to his multiple GMA Award-nominated debut,
Happy, and seems to be humble and…well, happy about it:
“While it’s been an honor to be the opening act on several tours over the past two years—the small picture on the poster—you can imagine my excitement now as we launch our first headlining tour,” said West. “I am looking forward to sharing the stage with both Shawn and Paul, as I believe they’re part of a new season of singer/songwriters. The concert is musically diverse, and we hope there will be something for everyone.”
“What I am most excited about is the message behind this tour,” West continues. “We pray that audiences will come and enjoy more than just a concert; we want it to be an event that inspires people to go out and make history in this life.”
In Addition, Sparrow Records singer/songwriter Shawn McDonald will be teaching a lesson from his 2004 musical text,
Simply Nothing, as well as this year’s follow up,
Live in Seattle. Shawn’s autobiographical lyrics give a testimony of a bout with drugs to a life-changing encounter with Christ.
Then we have Paul Wright, who’s 2003 debut LP,
Fly Away, bent the rules of several genres, and showed the Oregon native’s versatility. With a bit of a Jack Johnson style touch, his music blends rock, dancehall, and hip-hop sounds into an eclectic mixture.
