When Sparrow Records artist Matthew West went through vocal surgery and two months of silence in 2007, The Joy FM listeners committed to pray. That commitment was followed through by frequent mentions, phone calls, and messages of encouragement from listeners. Fully recovered, Matthew West stopped by The Morning Cruise to visit Dave, Bill and Carmen, share his story and play songs from his new release, Something to Say. After the morning show, Matthew performed and showed a documentary, Nothing to Say at an invitation-only concert with approximately 200 attending. The film followed Matthew through his emotional ordeal of vocal surgery and recovery. Listeners were visibly moved as it played and Matthew sang.
