Reunion Records artist Joy Williams hits No. 1 this week across multiple formats with her record-breaking song "Hide." Charts that saw "Hide" at the top this week include Billboard's Hot Christian Adult Contemporary and Hot Christian Singles and Tracks charts, R&R's AC Indicator and CHR charts, and CRW's CHR chart, where the single spends its second week in a row at No. 1.
Already hitting the 10, 000 spin mark, "Hide" is also this months recipient of the Nielsen BDS Certified Christian Spin Award for outstanding Christian radio airplay achievement.
"Hide" began its impressive radio run with an unprecedented first week, claiming 47 out-of-the-box adds on the Christian AC format -a feat that set all-time records on both the R&R Indicator and CRW AC charts with 60% more adds than the previous record holder.
"Hide" is the initial single off Williams' third album release,
Genesis, which the artist is currently promoting on a 20-city tour. Williams is also gearing up for an intensive fall touring schedule with details forthcoming.
Now 22, Williams launched her career as a songwriter and a vocalist at age 17. Her previous albums released to date include the 2001 debut
Joy Williams and 2002's
By Surprise, which included the No. 1 single "Every Moment." In 2002, Williams was voted "Best New Artist" in CCM Magazine's Readers Choice Awards.
