Gotee recording artist John Reuben unveils his fourth studio album, The Boy VS The Cynic, on June 21st.
The Boy VS The Cynic boasts 12 eclectic tracks including the first radio single "Nuisance" which will prove to be an album highlight as it features Relient K front man Matt Thiessen. Thiessen also makes a very special guest appearance in the music video for the song. "Nuisance" goes for adds at both CHR and Rock radio formats on May 2nd. The rock-oriented and sure-fire stand-out "Out of Control" will serve as the follow up single.
"This album has been a long time in the making," said Reuben who produced the album in its entirety. "There were a lot of really inspired moments in the studio and it's great to see it finally come together. I haven't felt this creative in years."
In support of The Boy VS The Cynic, Reuben will tour extensively throughout 2005, including a 30 city nationwide tour in April and May with Pillar and Thousand Foot Krutch. In addition, Reuben is also confirmed to headline a special Gotee night at Alive Festival on June 21st in Ohio, where over 7,000 are expected to be in attendance.
With his upcoming June release, John Reuben will have five studio albums to his credit including the self-released debut EP, Monuments which originally caught the attention of Gotee Records. Subsequently the rap releases
Are We There Yet (2000) and Hindsight (2002) and Professional Rapper (2003) followed with much critical-acclaim, and have seen a combined sales total of over 200,000 albums. The re-mix album entitled
In Hindsight The Professional Rapper Isn't There Yet, was also available to fans late last year. Reuben has toured extensively with shows in North and South America, Europe, and India alongside artists such as Toby Mac, Five Iron Frenzy, and Out of Eden. Most recently he toured with the Supertones, Relient K, and Pillar on the See Spot Rock Tour, as well as his annual 12 Days Of Christmas tour.
