Legendary country music stage the Grand Ole Opry will be adding a new program to its Signature Shows Series entitled
Grand Ole Gospel, which will premier tomorrow, July 15 at the Nashville venue.
The one hour program, which can be seen live on Great American Country (GAC) at 8:00 p.m. EST, will feature performances from southern gospel favorites the Crabb Family, Jeff & Sheri Easter, the Gaither Vocal Band and others, and will be hosted by Bill Anderson, who will celebrate his 45th anniversary as an Opry member this weekend.
“One of the Crabb Family's favorite places in the world to play their music is the Grand Ole Opry,” said Jason Crabb of the Crabb Family. “There is nothing like the feeling you get when you stand on the same stage where the greats have once stood. The Opry staff and the audience always make us feel at home. We are so excited to be apart of the Grand Ole Gospel Signature Show this weekend with our friends the Gaither Vocal Band and Jeff & Sheri Easter.”
Crabb continued, “The Opry started at the ‘Mother Church of Country Music,’ the Ryman Auditorium, and the Crabb Family sees it only fitting to bring Gospel music to the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage We commend Pete Fisher and the Opry staff for allowing us to present Gospel music at the Grand Ole Opry."
Partnering with the Opry for this special event is the EAR Foundation, who will be on site providing information about its missions, including providing support services promoting the integration of the hearing and balance impaired into mainstream society. In conjunction with the Signature Show,
Opry.com is hosting an online auction benefiting the EAR Foundation through July 24.
