Jason Eaton proclaims he is giving his all to God in his debut album Nothing Back. “All I’ve got, all I am, all my dreams, all my plans—I’m holding nothing back from you.” I surrender it all, and lay it all before you. All of my days I will give you all the glory.”
Although his first album, he is certainly not new to the music industry. He began his singing career as a soloist in his home church choir and even starred in a few musicals. Eaton’s pure, tenor voice combined with a hint of pop makes for an honest, Contemporary Christian album.
In his song, “A God Thing,” it discusses the miraculous, healing power of God when experiencing immense disappointment and trials in life: “I was on the floor crying out in desperation. The next thing I remember, the heaviest load was lifted off my shoulders.” It was a God thing— I can’t explain it.”
When listening to the album, one can easily compare his style and voice to Steven Curtis Chapman. However similar in sound, Eaton brings his own style and his passion and love for Christ is evident. He admits that: “You can't hold onto the things you want. You have to give them all over to Him so He can use you.”
