Jars of Clay stands nominated for a Grammy nomination in the category of Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album for 'Who We Are Instead', which was released in Nov. 2003. This may be the band's 4th Grammy, since its first award in 1997 for "Much Afraid".
Dan Haseltine, Jars of Clay lead vocalist, shares, "Receiving a nomination for 'Who We Are Instead' is exciting because it represents the ten year mark for us. It's also significant because we went into the studio with a specific vision in mind, and feel like we reached that goal with the album. With this nod, we're being recognized for a project that we intended to make, and it's very humbling."
In Fall 2004 "Where We Are Instead" Tour, Jars of Clay traveled with special guests Trevor Morgan and Sarah Kelly. The tour will continue in the spring, and they will be touring with label-mates Caedmon's Call, as well as international dates in South Africa, Sweden and Holland. Now the band is working on finishing touches for its seventh studio album, titled "Redemption Songs" which will be available March 22, 2005.
The Grammy Awards will be on Sunday February 13th in Los Angeles, California. A Grammy Salute to Gospel Music is scheduled for Thursday February 10th, 7pm.
