At the young age of 10, Isaiah D. Thomas began to embark upon what is now a successful career in the ministry of music. Minister Thomas became the minister of music of the Cornerstone Peaceful Bible Baptist Church at the ripe age of 19 under the pastoralship of Pastors Daniel and Sabrina Mangrum. In 1993, he recorded and released his first project with the Cornerstone Peaceful Bible Baptist Church Mass Choir entitled, "Pray Everything Will Be Alright", with the hit song, "High In All The Earth" featuring Pastor Bruce Parham and Ms. Cherisse Nelson McIntosh. This release soared through the airways in a way never thought imaginable. Encore!
In 1998, with the success of the first project still lingering, a second project was released entitled, "It's Time To Praise The Lord" which was also a major hit throughout the airways. This album consisted of major hits such as "It's Time To Praise The Lord", "Great Jehovah God", "Jesus Can Work It Out", and "Be Transformed".
While traveling from state to state promoting the success of his newly released projects, the Lord allowed him to see a much greater need in the body of Christ. Through this vision, the Ministry of an Effective Music Ministry was birthed. He has been anointed and appointed to travel extensively throughout the United States and Internationally (London, England and Switzerland) conducting workshops entitled Effective Music Ministry. During this captivating class, Minister Thomas ministers to people of all ages, genders, and nationalities as he shares real life experiences parallel with the Word of God while casting down strong holds within the body of Christ.
With over 15 years of experience, Isaiah has made quite a mark and earned a reputable reputation as a songwriter, producer, and vocalist in the gospel industry. His work can be heard either as a writer or producer on several projects to include the following: Stellar Award-Nominees Bishop Michael V. Kelsey and The New Samaritan Mass Choir (Il Sing To You and Masterpeace); Grammy-Award Winner Gladys Knight (Many Roads); Earl Muschette & Nu Mobb (Long Time Coming); Isaiah Thomas & Elements of Praise (Live in DC); Daniel T. Austin (On My Mind); Dove-Award Winners the Williams Brothers (Still Here); Stellar-Award Winner Dottie Peoples (Live in Memphis); and Stellar-Award Winner Byron Cage (An Invitation To Worship) which has topped both the Billboard charts and R & R charts as number 1 simultaneously.
Isaiah is cre de la cre! His music is remarkable, musically structured, scripture-based, breath-taking, soul-stirring, and inspiring. His music is easily identifiable with the present day and age challenges and obstacles of life.
He currently serves as the Director of Music and Arts for the New Samaritan Baptist Church in Washington, DC, where the Pastors are Bishop Michael V. Kelsey, Sr. and Elder Sheila B. Kelsey.
He is happily married to Shalaundia (Lana May) Thomas and is the father of three wonderful sons: Isaiah II, Gabriel and Michael. |
