Cross Movement Records artists Da' T.R.U.T.H. and FLAME were recently honored for their musical contributions to the genre of gospel hip-hop at the 8th Annual Holy Hip Hop Awards, held in Atlanta, Ga., on January 19, 2008. Past honorees include such top gospel hip-hop acts as The Cross Movement, T-Bone, Grits and L.A. Symphony, among others.

The Holy Hip Hop Award honor for Da' T.R.U.T.H. follows a recent Gospel Music Channel Video Award (GMCVA) win in the hip-hop category for his video "Who Am I?" (featuring Tye Tribbett)-the first radio and video single from his latest album Open Book. In addition, Open Book was nominated for a 2008 GRAMMY Award in the "Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album" category.

Da T.R.U.T.H.'s Open Book project released this summer on Cross Movement Records and set a new record by securing the highest Soundscan/Billboard Chart debut for a gospel hip-hop artist when Open Book captured the #2 position on the Billboard Top Gospel Chart. The album also debuted at #1 on Soundscan's Christian R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and at #3 on the iTunes Christian & Gospel Chart. Open Book has delighted fans across a variety of genres according to Billboard's charts, debuting at #5 on the Contemporary Christian Chart, #6 on the Top Christian/Gospel Chart and #18 on the Rap Chart. The album's single, "Who Am I?" featuring Tye Tribbett, debuted at #9 on HipHopRnBSoul.com's Top 10 Hip- Hop Songs as the only gospel song on the chart, positioned between Kanye West's "Can't Tell Me Nothin'" and 50 Cent's "Amusement Park." The gospel hip-hop artist was also named one of the top "Movers and Shakers Under 40" this summer by Trumpet Magazine.

Dove Award nominee FLAME is gearing up for the release of his fourth Cross Movement Records album, Our World: Redeemed, on March 4, 2008. Our World: Redeemed is the second installment in a two-album series, following up Our World: Fallen, which released April 17, 2007, to rave reviews. The two-album series captures the story of a non-believer's journey to faith in Christ, capturing open dialog between FLAME and the non-believer about mankind's spiritual poverty and the grave consequences of a sinful lifestyle.

The first Christian hip-hop artist from the Midwest to gain national attention, FLAME released his self-titled debut Cross Movement Records project in October 2004, followed by his sophomore album, Rewind, in 2005. Involved in ministry for more than 10 years, FLAME is currently completing his degree in Biblical Studies at Boyce College in Louisville, and in addition to his role as a national recording artist, he is preaching across the country at churches, events and conferences.
