Illusionist Brock Gill claimed victory again in the Xtreme World Arenacross races held January 13 in Jackson, MS. Taking home both a first and third place finish in back-to-back races, Brock remains the series points leader on the circuit. His first-ever competitive dirt bike race was in December 2006 at the Xtreme World Arenacross held in Batesville, MS, where he won two races and took home the first place trophy. Riding since he was 13, Brock also takes his dirt bike skills to the stage, incorporating them into his illusions. Currently, Brock is using two dirt bike stunts on his tour: “The Blind Ride,” where he rides blindfolded through the aisles of the audience while popping wheelies and jumping with the motorcycle off the stage, and “Moto Transpo,” where he is chained up inside a paper box and miraculously changes places with another rider that blasts through the paper box on his bike.
Using these stunts and other grand illusions, Brock recently completed his third annual Freedom Experience tour (FX.)
Shattering its previous attendance records for the third straight year, FX drew more than 31,000 people to one of the five FX tour stops. In New Castle, KY, a town of 900 people, more than 6,700 people attended over the three nights of the event. During the five events 2,887 people made first-time commitments to faith in Jesus Christ.
“We had the opportunity to host Brock Gill and the Freedom Experience this past year. I must say, we were blown away by the response every night,” says East Memorial Baptist Church’s Youth Pastor, Chris Britton. “Brock did a wonderful job relating to everyone in the audience. He is one of the best speaker/entertainer’s I have ever had the privilege to work with. Brock Gill did a wonderful job and I would recommend him to anybody who is serious about reaching their community with the Gospel.”
Along with Brock, the FX fall tour stops featured Flicker Records pop-punk group Eleventyseven and Fervent/Warner Brothers new hip-hop artist Group 1 Crew, as well as pro freestyle skateboarder Tim Byrne and Chaos on Wheels.
Since 2000, Brock has been averaging about 120 performances per year and the crowds have grown steadily from just a few hundred in 2000 to an average audience size of more than 1,500 in 2006. An estimated total of 200,000 people attended his live shows last year. In addition to The Freedom Experience, Brock Gill’s touring includes special one-day outreach events, and events at various camps, conferences, crusades, festivals and other evangelistic outreaches.
