Eleven years with all original members intact, five No. 1 singles and an impressive amount of Top 5 hits later, Big Daddy Weave this week releases their first inspirational Christmas record,
Christ Is Come.
“Over the past couple of years we have recorded Christmas songs for various Christmas compilation projects,” says Big Daddy Weave frontman, Mike Weaver. “Then fans at shows began asking about a full length record, so when Fervent Records approached us about making this one, it just seemed like the right time.”
Produced by the band’s own Jeremy Redmon, the 10-song CD provides holiday classics and original songs, including the forthcoming radio single, “I’ll Be Brave This Christmas,” all glorifying when God became man and gave the earth the greatest gift it would ever receive.
For most holiday albums, including
Christ Is Come, artists record music during the summer months in order to release the seasonal projects on time. And 100-degree weather “sort of put a dent in the ole yuletide spirit,” explains Mike.
He continues, “But I began to realize just how much I'd bought into the commercialized angle of the season and how unimportant a part that played in what truly
is important about Christmas. The realization that the arrival of Emmanuel is the focus and needs to be part of our everyday focus changed everything about it for me.”
To further celebrate
Christ Is Come, Big Daddy Weave will be performing on NewSong’s Christmas tour this holiday season. For the complete tour itinerary and more
