Also a celebrated songwriter, Herms' "Praise You In This Storm," co-written with Mark Hall, received a Dove Award in 2007 for Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year and was named Song of the Year at the 2007 ASCAP Christian Music Awards. The song is featured on Casting Crowns' RIAA Platinum certified Lifesong.
