Prayer is so powerful!
Matthew 7:7- 8 (NIV) says: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be open to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be open."
It will be given to you! Not it might be. IT WILL!
Matthew 21:22 (KJV) is one of my favorite; it says "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
So if we will first Pray and ask, Have Faith (Believe) in what we are praying; this verse says our answer is promised!
There is Power in Prayer! Jesus was a man of prayer. Whenever Jesus faced a major problem or decision, he would spend an entire night in prayer. After the Sermon on the Mount, he had a decision to make. Who would he choose as his inner circle of disciples? The disciples were called apostles, which means "people sent out with authority to perform a mission." He was to choose them so they could carry on his work after he was taken out of this world. Jesus slipped away from Capernaum
and walked up a mountain under the moon and stars. Away from the crowds, he went to his knees and prayed. All through the night, He talked to God and listened to what God was saying. The next morning He came down with his mind made up. He prayed for Peter; he prayed, before going to the cross, for his close friends and followers and even for us!
So if Jesus needed to pray daily, how much more do you and I need to pray?
Prayer is important! We are told to pray without ceasing. It is talked about, preached about, but there is very little of it being done. If we would just read the history of people like Chares Finney, and Smith Wiggelsworth, we would understand that miracles took place in the ministry of these men because they prayed!
Acts 4:31 (KJV) says "And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness."
It didn't say IF they prayed, it said WHEN they prayed!
Peter and John knew what to do and that was to Pray! If you will go back to verse 23 and 24 it tells that after they were let go, they went to their company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them. Just so you know they were trying to stop them from preaching Jesus . When they heard about how Peter and John were treated, it says they lifted up their voice to God with one accord...
You could preach right there! There is so much power when we unite in one mind and pray together! In 32 it says they had prayed with the same heart. They were of one heart!
We must pray, church, so that we can see the power of God!
John 15:7 (NIV) says "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you."
This is a great scripture. I like what it is saying. It says if you remain in me, if you lean on and trust in me, and then it says; my words remain in you. Why does it say that? Because faith comes by hearing by the word of God. If His word is in you then Faith is in you that when you ask it will be done!
Through Prayer there is no problem that can't be solved, no sickness that can't be healed, no burden that can't be lifted, no storm that can't be weathered, no sorrow that can't be erased, no poverty cycle that can't be broken, no sinner that can't be saved, no fallen that can't be lifted, no broken relationship that can't be mended!!!!!
Why don't you take a moment out of your busy schedule and talk to Him... Tell him first how worthy he is and how thankful you are for Him... Then tell him your hearts desires and dreams.. Ask him for direction in life.
Whatever the need, Jesus is your answer. Ask and it shall be given to you in Jesus name!!
