2nd Generation landed their first career nomination in the SGN Music Awards.
The up and coming trio landed a nomination in the category of
Fan Favorite Artist of the Year – the sole category in the SGN Music Awards where the nominees are decided on by the fans.
"We are absolutely in awe that we would be able to be nominated for such a huge award," mentioned Brenda Denney of 2nd Generation. "We have to say a huge 'Thank You' to all our fans for voting and showing their support for us."
Deon Unthank, administrator of SoGospelNews.com said, "I believe 2nd Generation's nomination in this category is a testament to just how supportive fans are of their favorite artists in Southern Gospel music. I know they are very excited about this nomination!"
In addition to 2nd Generation, the Fan Favorite Artist of the Year category features a who's who of Southern Gospel's biggest names – including the Booth Brothers, Crabb Revival, Dove Brothers, Gold City, Hoppers, Isaacs, Karen Peck & New River, Mike & Kelly Bowling, and the Perrys.
The nominees for the SGN Music Awards were chosen by the staff of SoGospelNews.com (except Fan Favorite Artist of the Year), and the winners will be chosen by fans of Southern Gospel music and readers of the popular site. Voting will run from February 1, 2009 through February 15, 2009.
2nd Generation recently reached a promotional agreement with Rhonda Thompson Promotions. Rhonda is currently promoting 2nd Generation's latest single – "Feel the Joy" – to Southern Gospel radio. "Feel the Joy" is the second single from the group's sophomore album
